Group Operations

ASGC has developed a comprehensive network of vertically integrated subsidiaries, all providing a stable and consistent supply of building materials and services. Through long-term planning and support from these subsidiary companies, ASGC is able to offer its clients unparalleled confidence in our ability to deliver. Today, all companies are market leaders in their own fields, and work on independent projects as well as ASGC-managed projects.

ASGC

Established in 1989, ASGC is a vertically integrated construction group that is best known for delivering turn key special projects in the UAE. The company owns the majority of its supply chain and utilizes mostly in-house resources, giving it a high degree of control over project quality and timely delivery. ASGC has grown progressively over the last three decades with a clear vision for the future. Over the years, we have been involved in landmark projects across diverse sectors such as residential, commercial, leisure, hospitality, healthcare, education, social infrastructure and industrial. We prefer to work with repeat customers, considering their desire to work again with us an essential part of our success and service provided. ASGC UK ASGC UK branch was established to further strengthen ASGC’s relationship with partners in the UK. ASGC UK oversees the relationships with UAE-based customers who are seeking UKEF-supported financing for their forthcoming projects, while also expanding the business’s activities into the wider GCC and select markets in Africa.

Hard Block Factory (HBF)

HBF (Hard Block Factory) is a leading manufacturing conglomerate established in the UAE to meet the increasing demand for quality products in the booming construction market. HBF manufactures all kinds of Masonry & Hourdi blocks, Paving blocks and Sholin blocks for the construction industry in the region. HBF management put quality and customer satisfaction as its first priority. The company has invested in the most advanced in-house testing and quality control facility and quality assurance technologies. HBF products are approved by Dubai Municipality, Public Work Department, Nakheel Development, Emaar Properties, and many other clients and international consultants in the region. In addition to supporting ASGC, HBF also supplies products to other key developers in the market.

Al Shafar Interiors (ASI)

ASI is a leading fit out and joinery solutions contractor. The company’s primary objective is to provide sophisticated finishes and custom-made products for different project sectors. ASI’s philosophy combines quality and aesthetics with years of experience to produce the highest levels of customer satisfaction. The company possesses extensive experience in all aspects of the planning design and construction process. Professional teamwork, expert decision – making and effective communication are qualities we have long embraced in the delivery of each project. ASI also maintains its own state of the art woodworking factory manufacturing doors, frames, wardrobes, vanity and kitchen units. With both a manufacturing facility as well as complete in-house project personnel, ASI is the partner of choice where performance and quality is guaranteed.

Hard Precast Building Systems (HPBS)

HPBS (Hard Pre-cast Building Systems) delivers “Total Precast Solutions” from design & value engineering to manufacture, logistics and installation of precast cement products. HPBS supplies precast concrete products on a large scale, both to ASGC and also to third parties. The company’s production facilities, located in Dubai Investment Park, cover an area of over 65,000 m² and utilize the latest pre-cast technology from market leaders such as Avermann (Germany), X-Tec (Finland), Wiggert (Germany) and Konicranes (Finland). HPBS’s manufacturing process is fully computerised from design to delivery. The factory has the capacity to produce over 400m3 of precast/day and has a strong fleet of 106 trailers & trucks.

Emirates Beton (EB)

Emirates Beton was established with a view to perform actively in the niche high-performance concrete sector. EB has grown into one of the largest ready-mix producers in the UAE. Emirates Beton caters to a wide variety of applications that include tower, residential, commercial and industrial construction. We specialise in the design, production and supply of ready-mix concrete using highly sophisticated, tried and tested processes. Emirates Beton has emphasised on high quality products, in compliance with international standards and employed the most advanced mixing technology in the ready-mix sector. Company forte lies in their reputation for unmatched accuracy along with superior consistency, offering customers the most efficient and comprehensive cement related products.

Al Shafar Steel Engineering (ASSENT)

ASSENT is one of the region’s leading companies in the field of structural steel design, engineering, fabrication, painting and erection. With a fully-covered and insulated production area in excess of 100,000 m² the company can produce up to 10,000 tonnes of steel structures per month. Using highly sophisticated technology, the company complies with all international standards for quality and accuracy of production. ASSENT supports the key developers not only in the Middle East, but also in Asia. The company portfolio comprises of high rise commercial & residential towers, shopping malls & leisure centers, refineries, power & water plants, petrochemical plants, aluminum smelters, cement plants, fertelizer plants, bridges, airports & seaports, railway projects & train stations.

Since we started Al Shafar General Contracting Co. L.L.C 17 years ago, and our specialized subsidiaries companies (ASU …etc.), we achieved tremendous growth. The Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry has included our name in the top companies in Dubai, in which only 103 companies have been selected. Although, I am very satisfied with what we have achieved and thank to “Allah” for that, this does not mean that we should not look for more ambitious objectives. The solid past has put us in a strong position for expansion and “Insha Allah” the future shall be better. We have continuously aimed for a truly professional organization where best industry practices are followed and quality is not just a compliance issue but our foremost goal. We are private enterprise, but as an integral part of the U.A.E. Economy, we continuously pursue the well-being of all its residents, and endeavor to enhance the quality of life for all members of our society. Mr Bin Shafar is an Executive Director and company's Vice President. He has over 15 years of experience in the field of civil engineering, contracting and real estate development. He started his career as a project manager at ASGC and was responsible for the overall supervision of some of ASGC’s most prominent construction projects, such as Dubai Internet City. Mr Bin Shafar holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Colorado, United States

Mr Azmy is an Executive Director and CEO. As the Chief Executive Officer of Al Shafar General Contracting LLC, he formulates corporate strategy and steers ASGC toward the achievement of its mission, vision and philosophy. Mr Azmy has been a Mensa member since 2000 and is a member of the Advisory Board of Engineers of the American University in Dubai and an associate of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. He is committed to corporate social responsibility and a recognised speaker at various business and academic conferences. Mr Azmy is also a member of the Young Presidents Organization (“YPO”) and was named on the Arabian Business “ 30 under 30” list in 2010 and “CEO of the Year” by the International Quality & Productivity Center (“IQPC”) in 2014. Mr Azmy graduated from the American University in Cairo with a degree (Highest Honors) in Construction Engineering in 2002. He also holds an Executive Masters in Business Administration from the London School of Business, United Kingdom and a Masters of Science in International Construction Management from the University of Bath, United Kingdom.

Al Shafar United for Electro-mechanical Engineering LLC (ASU) is an ISO 9001-2015, ISO 14001:2015, OHSAS 18001:2007 certified Electro-mechanical Flagship Company of ASGC Group. ASU was established as an Electro-mechanical department in ASGC. in the year of 1989, taking part in development projects being carried out in the emirate of Dubai. In the year of 2007 ASU was launched as an independent Electro-mechanical Limited Liability Company under the umbrella of ASGC charged to look after Electro-mechanical contracts.

ASU is a leading established company in U.A.E since 2007, and dealing in wide range of MEP services. We are proud to have provided our services to many reputed clients for their big and prestigious projects in U.A.E.With a vast and prestigious portfolio of projects in such fields as residential, commercial, mixe-used, villas, industrial, hospitality, healthcare, educational, social infructrucutre and etc... for the public and private sectors.

The prime objective of the management and employees of ASU is to provide the clients our best service taking in consideration keeping health and safety as our first priority . Our philosophy is to continually strive for a ‘Zero Accidents’ environment in our workplace; accordingly we enforcevery strict health and safety procedures throughout our operations, in the belief that all accidents can be avoided through these safety protocols.

 

The success of our focus on HSE is reflected in our OHSAS 18001(health and safety) and BS EN ISO 14001 (environment) accreditations.There are a number of methods by which we communicate HSE within ASU and these include site-based talks and reporting processes, meetings, audits, internal information sheets and of course training.Regular internal and external audits ensure that all our staff abides by the Company health and safety rules.


Health and safety training sessions that flag the dangers and benefits of non-compliance and compliance respectively are an important part of our agenda. ASU a major Electro- mechanical company in UAE , we are fully aware of our responsibility to the environment. We are genuinely committed to minimising the environmental impact of our activities.

Technology

BIM

One of the most significant uses of technology in the construction field is BIM. ASU one of the first MEP contractors in the UAE implemented BIM.

ASU has chosen to used scatter of best software (Autodesk Revit and Bentley Aecosim) the internally hired BIM team members were trained by BRE academy on the implementation of BIM level 2 as per the BS1192 and PAS1192-2 standards.

 

 ASU has further focused on developing in-house solutions and invest in new technologies:

Revit addons written in C# and VBA to increase the efficiency of the production of shop drawings from Autodesk Revit and Bentley Aecosim.

ASU has developed its own software addons Augmented Reality (AR) for both Revit and AECOsim to increase the efficiency of the production of its models and drawings. Also, ASU understands the importance of applying the latest technologies available in the market, therefore it is investigating the potential use of AR (Augmented Reality) technology and invested in Trimble TX6 3D laser scanner which is being used to produce accurate and coordinated BIM models during renovation and expansion projects and as-built models during the handover stage

 

 

 

 

 

 

ASU is also investigating the potential of using 4D Modeling for phase planning to visualize project milestones and construction plans, & 5D Modeling linked to construction cost estimation and purchasing generated from the data within the model, which could assist in the decision making to speed up the construction process.

 

 

 

 

 

 

PREFABRICATION MODULE INSTALLATION

The controlled environment and schedule time savings of prefab allows us to create the assemblies and products in a more productive way, which in turn shortens the installation time in the field.

 

ASU, through adopting the latest construction practices, has figured out the importance and benefits of applying the off-site prefabrication into its projects, to achieve the followings:
